The 5th. Biennial Conference of Comparative Literature: Literature and Science

The organizing committee of the 5th biennial conference of comparative literature would like to invite scholars from various disciplines such as Science, Humanities, History, Politics, Literature, Art, Philosophy, and Religion, to address topics in the interactions of literature and science in any period and any languages in 20-minute papers. The aim is to provide a chance to examine and redefine the scope of interdisciplinary dialogue between Literature and Sciences at both domestic and international levels.

Important Deadlines:
Abstracts (not more than 250 words) must reach us by June 19, 2008
Notification of acceptance July 14, 2008
Full articles (not more than 6000 words including notes and bibliography) must reach us by December 20, 2008
All correspondence, including abstract and full article submissions, will be accepted via comlit[at]ut.ac.ir

- Confrontations between Literature and Science in cultures across the world
- The reflection and/or overriding of superstition/science in the literature of nations
- The dialogue of pure/experimental sciences with philosophy and literature in the East and the West and their relevant consequences/achievements
- Literary allegories and symbols borrowed from Mathematics, Astronomy, Philosophy and Religion
- Architecture, Anthropology, sociology and literature
- Literary schools/theories as cultural phenomena
